The first day of the Cup of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in kettlebell lifting named after Hero of the Soviet Union, Colonel-General Valery Vostrotin, has ended at the CSKA Palace of Combat Sports. In the overall standings, among the teams of services and combat arms, military districts of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the athletes-military personnel of the Central Military District became the leaders.

On the starting day of the Cup of the RF Armed Forces in kettlebell lifting, competitions among women in the snatch and men in a long cycle were held.

Women competed in two weight categories – 63 kg and over 63 kg. In the first category, the best result was shown by Sergeant Ksenia Dedyukhina, representing the Central Military District, and in the second – Private Natalya Barbakova (VKS).

Among men in the long cycle, awards were raffled off in five weight categories.

Private Vladislav Morozovich (TsVO) became the best in the weight category of 63 kg, Sergeant Evgeny Ivanov (VVO) showed the best result in the weight category up to 68 kg. In the 73 kg category, junior sergeant Sergei Kargin (VVO) took first place, and in the weight category up to 85 kg – private Pavel Chuev (TsVO). Private Sergei Balabanov (Southern Military District) won the long cycle competition in the weight category over 85 kg.

According to the results of the first day of the competition, in the overall standings among the teams of the branches and arms of the troops, military districts of the RF Armed Forces, sportsmen-military personnel of the Central Military District became leaders.

The tournament will end on October 23rd.
