The Environmental Protection Department today announced it recorded 41 convictions for pollution offences in September.

Seven convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, 10 under the Public Cleansing & Prevention of Nuisances Regulation, and 19 under the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance.

There were also three convictions for illegal waste disposal and one each for noise and water pollution.

The heaviest fine was $15,000 given to a company for importing controlled waste without a permit.
