Source: DGB – Bundesvorstand21.10.2020DGB works in the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) 15 governments establish initiative on artificial intelligence The Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) was founded in June 2020 and is a global, political multi-stakeholder initiative of 15 governments on the subject of “Artificial Intelligence”. The DGB was appointed by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to the working group “Future of Work” of the partnership, which deals in particular with the effects of AI on the world of work and the challenges of human-machine interaction. On December 3rd and 4th, 2020 the first results will be presented at the “GPAI Summit”.
The members of the GPAI are made up of leading and independent experts from the fields of industry, civil society and science. Its goal is to increase the knowledge base about AI applications and systems through research, projects and experiments and to develop a common language and understanding of AI on an international level. Four working groups are dedicated to the following topics: Responsible AI handling of data Future of work Innovation & commercialization One Temporary sub-working group is working on the topic of AI and fighting pandemics, based on the COVID-19 crisis. Two competence centers in Paris and Montréal, so-called “Centers of Expertise”, support the working groups in administration, organization, communication and research.
