As part of the preparation of the Far Eastern regional search and rescue squad of the EMERCOM of Russia for international certification according to the INSARAG methodology, a large-scale 36-hour exercise was held in Khabarovsk.

During the exercise, a complete algorithm of actions was worked out when responding to an emergency (earthquake) in a foreign country, including issues related to the passage of customs, border control, loading into an aircraft, arrival in the country that asked for help, interaction with representatives of local authorities and, directly work at the site of an emergency, in rubble, adits, towers, assistance and rescue of victims.

The exercises lasted 36 hours continuously. All practical actions were observed by experts – representatives of the Department of International Activities of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and international-class rescuers. The experts thoroughly checked the readiness of the detachment for certification according to the INSARAG methodology, studied everything from the DVRPSO portfolio and the necessary set of documents, including customs, to the test site being built for large-scale exercises simulating destruction after an earthquake. The Far Eastern rescuers have clearly demonstrated their knowledge, skills, capabilities in eliminating the consequences of a natural disaster, rescuing victims in a foreign country.

The experts also highly appreciated the material and technical base, social and living conditions, medical and transport support of the detachment.

In their opinion, the Far Eastern RPSO has successfully passed the next test exam of the three-year preparation for international certification, which is planned for next year.
