In the rating of innovative attractiveness of world cities, Moscow took eighth place among 36 of its participants. 14 cities from this list are capitals. The results were presented at the annual Open Innovation Forum.
“We are constantly in a state of fierce struggle to attract talent with other megacities of the world. But for us, as the capital of Russia, it is important not only to attract specialists from foreign cities, but also to be the outpost that will allow talented children not to leave for other countries, but to realize themselves here, on the territory of our country, in Moscow. To do this, we create conditions for the development and self-realization of young people from school age, ”said the head of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development
The rating of the innovative attractiveness of world cities was compiled by specialists from the Russian Cluster Observatory Center of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). The authors of the study analyzed the level of development of the urban environment, technologies, innovations in the creative field in the largest megacities of the world. Moscow is in first place in terms of digital development.
“Moscow is characterized by unconditional digital leadership. We are talking not only about Wi-Fi points: these are technoparks and the world’s largest innovation cluster, which unites over 17 thousand innovative enterprises on its digital platform, ”said Evgeny Kutsenko, director of the HSE Russian Cluster Observatory.
The experts highly appreciated the development of the capital’s technoparks. There are 36 of them in Moscow. They accommodate more than two thousand tenants, provide about 60 thousand jobs. This year, the first creative technopark appeared in the capital. It is based at the Artplay design center.
The Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development “Open Innovations” is being held from October 19 to October 21 in an online format. Its main theme is “Digital Future. Globalization or Isolation “. Technological companies from Moscow will present their developments this year as part of the forum.
