The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced a $9,744,433.31 Public Assistance grant to the Commonwealth’s Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for emergency protective measures taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic beginning April 27, 2020 and ongoing. HSEM set up an Alternate Care Site, which cost the grant will offset. And HSEM is also purchasing personal protective equipment, medical equipment, and supplies for operations, prevention, and treatment services. The award is 75 percent of the total project cost of $12,992,577.74. Funding is authorized under the Stafford Act Section 403 and obligated directly to the Commonwealth, which is responsible for reimbursement to the eligible party upon receipt of proper documentation.
