The training ship “Smolny”, following the plan of a long-distance cruise from Sevastopol to Kronstadt, is currently passing the Baltic strait zone and on October 21 will make a call to Baltiysk.

On board the training ship there are over 250 cadets and officers of the V.I. F.F. Ushakov and the Naval Institute (Peter the Great Naval Corps). The plan for the long-range cruise of the Smolny Company was approved by the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

Before the passage of the Baltic Straits, the ship underwent training on passage through the narrowness, in which the cadets on board and the ship’s crew took part.

During a long voyage, under the guidance of the most trained members of the ship’s crew, cadets daily work out activities on the basics of ship organization, classes in naval and navigational training, in the fight for ship damage, keeping watch on the navigating bridge, as well as the ship practice program provides for general, physical and special training.

The Smolny training ship left Kronstadt on July 7, 2020. As part of the long voyage, the ship has already passed more than 13 seas of the Arctic and Atlantic oceans and made calls to the main bases and bases of the Northern and Black Sea fleets. The return of the ship to the basing point of Kronstadt is scheduled for the end of October 2020.
