The number of loans granted in August 2020 to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) exceeded 272,000, which is 10.4% more than in July. Over the month, their amount increased by 7.2%, to reach 698 billion rubles. The weighted average interest rate on short-term loans (for up to one year) went down to 6.73%, and that on long-term loans (with maturities of over one year) remained at July’s level, that is, 8.02%. As of 1 September, the SME loan portfolio totalled 5.2 trillion rubles. Further details are available in the statistical bulletin ‘Lending to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises’.
