The work is being carried out on behalf of the President.

Order of October 17, 2020 No. 2677-r

The government continues to eliminate the third shift in schools. In 2020-2021, almost 12 billion rubles will be allocated for the re-equipment of existing educational institutions and the construction of new ones. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The money will go to Buryatia, Dagestan and Chechnya, where in a number of districts schoolchildren still study in three shifts. In addition, funding will be directed to Ingushetia. There, the third shift in schools has already been eliminated, but the need for additional places still remains.

The issue was discussed at a meeting of the Government on October 15. Mikhail Mishustin noted that every child in the country should have the opportunity to study in good conditions.

Earlier, the President instructed the Government to calculate the need for additional places in educational institutions, since the number of schoolchildren is increasing.

Work on creating new places in schools is being carried out within the framework of the national project “Education”.
