This and other measures made it possible to reduce the number of passengers in public transport by 39 percent, which means, to reduce the likelihood of infection.

About a million Muscovites have switched to remote work. About it Sergei Sobyanintold in an interview to the program “Week in the City” of the TV channel “Russia 1”.

“We see today in terms of traffic, we have a million people reduced movement around the city, primarily in public transport. In public transport – metro, ground – when compared with last year, and we clearly know how much there was, a 39 percent decline, “- said the Mayor of Moscow.

The decrease in the number of people in public places is also achieved due to the fact that citizens from risk groups – people over 65 years of age and suffering from chronic diseases – mainly observe their home regime and move little around the city. Another group that has significantly reduced the number of displacements is schoolchildren.

The Mayor of Moscow stressed that all restrictive measures are forced, they allow to reduce the number of passengers in public transport, while maintaining jobs.

“Without touching the economy, we create restrictions for those groups of citizens that least of all affect the employment of the population, wages and incomes. The first group – people over 65 years old, it is about two million people, if we take chronic patients, even those under 65, there are about 600 thousand, there are only a million schoolchildren, half a million – schoolchildren from the sixth to the 11th grade. If we take these groups and somehow at least reduce their movement and contacts, then we, quite possibly, will achieve a positive result. We do not touch other groups ”.

The decision to return to schools for pupils of the first and fifth grades was made based on the convenience of both children and parents. The Mayor of Moscow noted that it is very difficult to organize distance learning for primary school students. In addition, leaving them alone at home is impossible. High school students will be able to study remotely and be at home alone, and their parents will be able to go to work.
