The Tyumen Regional Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against a 44-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg. He was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (banditry), part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft), part 3 of Art. 226 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft of firearms, ammunition), part 2 of Art. 223 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal alteration of the main parts of firearms), Part 4 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery), part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal carrying of firearms, ammunition).

The court established that in 2018 the defendant became part of a gang created by a resident of Tyumen to attack persons engaged in business activities in the service and collection of payment terminals. In November 2018, in order to arm the gang, a man with two accomplices in one of the houses in the village of Stantsionniy-Polevskaya, Sverdlovsk region, stole 4 weapons and 281 cartridges.

At the same time, he and other members of the gang in the city of Tyumen carried out an armed robbery against collectors carrying money. However, it was not possible to take possession of the money, since the victims were able to escape.

In December 2018, other gang members were detained on the highway near Omsk after the attack on Regional Payment Center LLC in Barnaul and the theft of more than 1.7 million rubles.

The defendant was arrested in June 2019 in Yekaterinburg.

In connection with the conclusion of a pre-trial cooperation agreement, the criminal case against him was separated into a separate proceeding.

The court sentenced the man to 8 years 6 months of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony with a fine of 200 thousand rubles. After his release, he will be restricted in freedom of movement for 6 months. In addition, the court recovered 70 thousand rubles from the convict in favor of the two victims as compensation for moral damage.

The verdict did not enter into legal force.

A criminal case against 7 malefactors is pending at the Tyumen Regional Court. Another gang member in July 2020 was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony.
