Second Step restrictions (COVID-19) restrictions in Yarra changed from 11.59pm on Sunday 18 October 2020.

What’s changed?

There have been some significant changes to restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne.

Here’s the rundown

  • You can now travel up to 25km from your home for the four permitted reasons.
  • Outdoor gatherings have increased to 10 people from two households.
  • There is no time limit on exercise and socialising, or limit on the amount of times you can leave home.
  • Skate parks, golf courses and tennis courts can reopen – including tennis at Mayors Park and Fitzroy Tennis Club, and golf at Burnley Golf Course.
  • Outdoor pools can increase capacity to 30 people (subject to density) – including Fitzroy Pool.

The 5km rule has changed

You can now travel up to 25km from your home for the permitted reasons:

  • shopping for essential items
  • to provide care
  • work (if you’re a permitted worker)
  • exercise and socialising.

Remember to wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene and physical distance when you’re out and about.

Socialising outdoors

You can now catch up outdoors with up to 9 other people from your household and one other – for as often and long as you like. Children under 12 months of age are not included in the limit.

Tennis and skate parks

Mayors Park and Fitzroy Tennis Club will reopen for singles bookings only. Bookings go live today. Yarra’s skate parks are now open again.

Outdoor pools

Fitzroy Pool will increase its capacity for lap swimming to 30 people from 6am on Tuesday 20 October 2020. Bookings are now open.
