Steinhausen: Accident, drove away and yet caught

A 31-year-old driver caused an accident on Friday evening and left the scene of the accident without permission. A little later, however, he was stopped by the emergency services. He had to hand in his driver’s license.

On Friday evening (October 17, 2020), shortly after 5.15 p.m., a vehicle driver in Steinhausen in the Zuger- / Knonauerstrasse roundabout lost control of his car. He came off the road, drove over the adjacent meadow and crashed into a property fence. According to an informant, the driver then continued to drive the damaged vehicle. Thanks to the good information about the vehicle, the driver could be affected a short time later.

During the subsequent control, the emergency services found alcohol symptoms in the 31-year-old. The prosecutor on call ordered a blood and urine sample in the hospital. The driver’s license was taken from the man for the attention of the administrative authority (road traffic office). He must also answer to the public prosecutor of the canton of Zug.
