Foreign Minister Claudia Blum led the VII meeting of the High Level Instance for the Coordination of Foreign Action in which the Ministries of Commerce, Labor, Transport, Finance, Defense, Culture, Health, Interior, and representatives of the Unit of Risk Management, Colombia Migration and National Planning. The Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs and other Vice Ministers participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the work plans of Colombia in the current Pro Tempore Presidency of the Andean Community were discussed, as well as the work for the construction of the Action Plan for the Pro Tempore Presidency that Colombia will assume in the Pacific Alliance and in Prosur the December 11 next.

At the meeting, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Trade agreed that the simultaneous exercise of the presidencies in these three organizations is a historic moment for Colombia, and demonstrates the country’s leadership in the regional context. Likewise, they emphasized that the task at the head of these mechanisms offers great opportunities to promote economic reactivation and recovery from the social effects of the pandemic in the region.

Chancellor Blum explained that the High Level Instance allows the different ministries that have responsibilities in the economic, social, political, environmental, cultural and institutional agenda of these mechanisms to actively participate in the preparation of the work plans and in their implementation. , to strengthen these regional instances.
