Thames Valley Police is releasing a CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to following a business robbery in Bicester.
At around 6pm on Wednesday (14/10) the offender entered McColls Newsagents in Market Square and attempted to go behind the tills. His path was blocked by a Perspex door, so he used what is believed to be a small, rusty firearm to scare staff in order for him to jump over. He then left in the direction of Crown Walk.
An amount of cash was stolen.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Oliver Harrison, based at Banbury police station, said: “This was a frightening experience for the victims involved and thankfully no one was hurt.
“I am appealing for anyone who may recognise this man, or if you think it could be you, to please get in touch, as we believe the man pictured may have vital information in connection with this incident.
“Likewise if you witnessed anything or have any information that might help our investigation we’d like to hear from you.
“You can make a report online or by calling 101 quoting reference 43200324456.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain 100% anonymous you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
