At the final stage of the exercise of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces “Indestructible Brotherhood-2020”, which took place at the Losvido training ground in the Vitebsk region, the peacekeepers of Russia and Belarus worked out the elimination of the consequences of the explosion of a tanker truck with ammonia.

According to the plan of the exercise, an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Republic of Belarus, in the course of conducting aerial reconnaissance, discovered the explosion of a tanker truck bearing the sign “Chemical hazard”. Subdivisions of the NBC defense of the Russian Federation, using special vehicles, conducted reconnaissance and found damage to the tank in which the ammonia was transported. The foci of infection were promptly eliminated in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus. To prevent further spread of the chemical, a special water curtain was installed on the windy side.

The CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, Belarusian Defense Minister Major General Viktor Khrenin and Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, are watching the course of the practical actions of the final stage of the command-staff exercise with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces “Indestructible Brotherhood-2020”. The event is also attended by official delegations of the CSTO member states, international organizations and military attachés.

Also during the exercise, the implementation of tasks for conducting a peacekeeping operation is being practiced: escorting convoys, patrolling the area and countering improvised explosive devices. They carry out blocking and inspection of the settlement in the area of ​​responsibility. In cooperation with the police (police) and rescue units, they work out the tasks of assisting in the restoration of a peaceful life.
