The Government today said the temporary testing centres in Wan Chai, Kwai Tsing, Kowloon City and Yau Tsim Mong districts have collected specimens from 14,824 people for COVID-19 nucleic acid testing as of 8pm.

Specimens from 809 people were collected at the Wan Chai Temporary Testing Centre, while 547 people’s specimens were taken at the Kwai Tsing testing centre.

Specimens from 496 and 1,107 people were collected at the Kowloon City and Yau Tsim Mong testing centres.

As ‪of 10pm, a total of 11,865 specimens collected under the temporary community testing arrangement had been tested.

Specimens with a positive COVID-19 result will be referred to the Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory Services Branch for a confirmatory test. Confirmed cases will be followed up and announced by the Centre for Health Protection.

The Wan Chai, Kwai Tsing and Kowloon City Temporary Testing Centres will cease operation tomorrow while the Yau Tsim Mong Temporary Testing Centre will continue operating till October 18. 

Additionally, over 1,600 specimen collection packs were distributed at 46 Hospital Authority general out-patient clinics today.
