1. The Governments of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Republic of Paraguay welcomed the reopening, on October 15, 2020, of the border posts in Foz do Iguaçu (PR) – Ciudad del Este; Ponta Porã (MS) – Pedro Juan Caballero; and Mundo Novo (MS) – Saltos del Guaira, as part of a gradual process of opening borders between both countries.

2. They agreed that each country will use health protocols, in accordance with their respective legislation, to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

3. In view of the economic recovery of the border regions, they reaffirmed their willingness to continue working to advance the construction of the second bridge over the Paraná River, between Foz do Iguaçu and Presidente Franco, and the bridge over the Paraguay River, between Porto Murtinho and Carmelo Peralta, as well as in the accesses and complementary works to these bridges. They also congratulated themselves on the negotiations that made it possible to improve the navigability of the Paraná River in the face of hydrological crisis situations.

4. They also agreed on the importance of reactivating border trade, especially for the preservation of jobs, and also recalled the recent understanding that creates logistic centers for border trade at the borders of each country and establishes procedures for delivery to these places , purchases made through electronic commerce.
