Credit: DisclosureThe largest planned tourist pole in the Northeast, the Cabo Branco Tourist Polo, located in João Pessoa (PB), opens a new stage this Thursday (15.10) with the contracts to start construction of the project. The project provides for the installation of hotel, entertainment and commercial services in a strategic area of the city. For the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Higino Vieira, who represented the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, at the signing ceremony , the new venture will make an important contribution to the region’s tourism development. “We are experiencing a moment of resumption of tourism that was strongly impacted by the pandemic and one of the trends identified by MTur is the valorization of domestic tourism. Therefore, I have no doubt that the existence of a project as audacious as this, in one of the main tourist destinations in the country, will bring a significant gain for the local, national economy and, of course, for the development of the entire region ”, During the ceremony, the governor of Paraíba, João Azevedo, stated that the works should be in full execution in March 2021 and the signing of the contracts is a historic moment for the state. “We are seeing a 30 year old dream come true. Everything that is happening here will have a major impact on the state’s economy and development. The Polo will transform Paraíba into a tourist attraction center for the whole of Brazil ”, he stressed. According to the project, the Cabo Branco Tourist Complex has an area of 654 hectares with 35 lots, 19 for the hotel sector, five for the entertainment sector, ten for the commercial and services sector and one for the events sector. A new public notice for the establishment of companies at the Cabo Branco Tourist Complex was released at the end of July this year. In this announcement, five lots were offered that include, in addition to the urban hotel sector, areas for commerce, services and tourist entertainment. With this action, the state government works to make Paraíba stand out not only in cultural tourism, sun and beach, business and events, as well as being a reference in sustainable tourism, presenting tourists with a concern for the environment, society and the economy of Paraíba.
