The project, implemented in the Angarsk educational colony of the GUFSIN of Russia in the Irkutsk region, was included in the shortlist of the All-Russian competition of socially significant projects “My project is for my country!” and will compete in the final for the statuette and the winner’s diploma. The best projects of the competition will be presented at the final forum “Community” in Moscow on November 3.
The project “My first home. Start to the Future ”was developed by the“ Assistance ”Foundation for the Development of the Social Sphere and the secondary general education school of the GUFSIN of Russia in the Irkutsk Region. In August 2019, a training apartment was equipped in the colony’s rehabilitation center to prepare inmates for release. In the apartment, teenagers learn to live independently: they work, plan a budget, housekeeping and prepare food, and perform minor repairs. The training process is accompanied by tutors, teachers, educators, psychologists, teachers of additional education, medical workers. The “training apartment” technology, which was previously widely recommended in working with orphans and people with disabilities, is being used for the first time in the penal system. The project received support from the Presidential Grants Fund following the results of the first competition in 2019.
Besides the project “My first home. Start to the Future “in the nomination” Basic Rights and Freedoms “presented a project from the Yaroslavl region to introduce parental control over school meals and a project of the Republic of Tatarstan to create a resource center in the field of social adaptation and integration of migrants. The winner will be chosen by members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and members of the public chambers of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Projects are evaluated in terms of relevance, social relevance, innovation and scalability.
