The combat crews of the army aviation of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and the air defense of the Western Military District (ZVO) launched missile and cannon strikes against the infrastructure of the imaginary enemy.

During the flights, the crews of a separate helicopter regiment took off from the Pushkin airfield and over the Kingiseppsky training ground (Leningrad region) performed the task of hitting full-size targets imitating the enemy’s military equipment and engineering fortifications. The flight to the specified area of ​​operations was carried out in the composition of the links at an extremely low altitude of up to 30 m with a lateral roll of up to 45 degrees.

Unguided aircraft S-8KOM missiles and an automatic 30-mm GSh-30 cannon were used as aviation weapons. To create decoys for the enemy’s air defense systems, ASO-2V heat traps were used, produced with the help of on-board aircraft defense systems.

More than 10 Mi-8MTV-5-1 multipurpose helicopters, Mi-35M attack helicopters, and Mi-28N “Night Hunter” were involved in the exercise.
