The Government today approved $2.218 million in grants for Hong Kong Red Cross to help flood victims in Bangladesh.

The grant will be used to provide food kits and hygiene kits for around 37,500 victims.

Together with subvention approved earlier for this flooding in Bangladesh, $9.045 million in grants have been approved to benefit 101,250 victims.

To ensure the money is used properly, Hong Kong Red Cross must submit an evaluation report and audited account after the relief project is completed.
