At the Vyazma airfield (Smolensk region), a training was held for the rescue paratrooper group of a separate helicopter regiment of the Leningrad Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Western Military District.

The servicemen practiced performing parachute jumps to delay the opening of the backpack, as well as landing on a site of limited size. The exercise was performed at an altitude of 1700 meters in difficult meteorological conditions. After 20 seconds of free fall, the canopy of the parachute is opened and landed at a given point.

The jumps were performed from the Mi-8 helicopter using the Arbalet-1 special-purpose parachute system designed to perform special missions with landing on unprepared sites in difficult meteorological conditions.
