The Regional Joint Office (New Territories West) under the Joint Office for investigation of reports on water seepage in buildings came into full operation today to handle water seepage cases in the districts.
Set up by the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) and the Buildings Department (BD), the joint office said its working team provides a one-stop service to the public with the FEHD’s legal authority and the BD’s building survey expertise.
Four district joint offices in Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Kwai Tsing were relocated to the new office to enable the two departments’ staff to work in the same office.
The joint office explained that improving the overall efficiency and strengthening co-operation and communication between the staff will help the working team speed up the processing of cases and provide better services to the public.
The new office, located at Sha Tsui Road in Tsuen Wan, is the third regional joint office.
The Regional Joint Office (Hong Kong) at Yip Kan Street in Wong Chuk Hang and the Regional Joint Office (Kowloon) at Wang Kwong Road in Kowloon Bay began operation in January and June this year. The fourth office will be set up in New Territories East later.
