As part of the final checkout of combat training, servicemen of the Russian military base in Abkhazia successfully hit the helicopters and armored vehicles of the mock enemy from the guns of the T-72B3 tanks at the Maikopsky training ground in Adygea.

In the course of passing the fire training exam in day and night conditions, the personnel of the tank units performed live firing with regular 125-mm shells on the move at emerging and moving targets. Also, the servicemen destroyed aerial targets from Kord heavy machine guns mounted on armored vehicles. The maximum range to targets was up to 5 thousand m.

Targets imitating tanks and armored personnel carriers of a conditional enemy appeared for 60 seconds, which required instant reaction and accuracy from the crews of vehicles. The defeat of targets was complicated by the constant change in the target environment.

In addition, during the testing activities, the driver-mechanics performed exercises for driving tanks on difficult terrain with overcoming natural and artificial obstacles – ravines, ponds and log heaps.

In total, more than 100 servicemen of the YuVO tank divisions were involved in the verification activities from the compound, 10 modernized T-72B3 tanks were involved.
