As part of the events of the anniversary year for the 12 Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Russia in 2020, on October 8, on the historical wall of the Gethsemane skete, on the territory of which the institute is located, a memorial plaque dedicated to the first head of the 12th Main Directorate of the USSR Ministry of Defense, Colonel General Viktor Anisimovich Bolyatko, name which is worn by the institute, and to the legendary head of the institute, who headed it for more than 20 years, academician, lieutenant general Zamyshlyaev Barrikad Vyacheslavovich.

During the ceremony, the enormous contribution of these outstanding military leaders to the formation and development of the 12th Main Directorate and military science, as well as the personal contribution of B.V. Zamyshlyaev to the creation and improvement of the Ferma town (now the Ferma microdistrict of Sergiev Posad), was noted. on the territory of which the institute is located. One of the streets of the microdistrict bears the name of Zamyshlyaev today.

A memorial plaque was opened near the monument to St. Nikolai the Wonderworker, dedicated to the creators of Russia’s nuclear shield. The Monument to the Creators of Russia’s Nuclear Shield was erected in 2007 and consecrated by His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia. A memorial plaque to V.A. Bolyatko and B.V. Zamyshlyaev harmoniously complemented the architectural ensemble of the square in front of the institute.

In 2020, the 12th Central Scientific Research Institute of the Red Banner of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation named after V.A. Sary turned 70 years old. The opening of the memorial plaque was one of the events timed to coincide with the anniversary date.
