The crews of the MiG-31 fighter-interceptors of the fighter aviation regiment of the Central Military District (CVO), based in the Perm Territory, during a tactical flight exercise, taking place as part of a control check over the summer training period, covered a missile-hazardous direction in the Volga region.

The pilots flew to the operational airfield and took up combat training duty. The MiG-31 crews practiced monitoring the airspace as part of combat pairs using the onboard Zaslon-M radar systems. The flights were carried out at altitudes up to 17 thousand meters. During the patrol, the pairs of fighter-interceptors on duty discovered more than 100 aerial objects, including about 10 training targets, with which forced landing maneuvers were practiced.

More than 150 military personnel from among the flight, engineering and technical personnel, as well as the support and control group took part in the tactical flight exercise, about 10 MiG-31 interceptor fighters were involved.

Earlier, the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, said that in October, as part of a control check of troops during the summer training period, more than 10 large exercises with the participation of large formations, formations and military units of the Central Military District will be held at training ranges in Bashkiria, Udmurtia, Tuva, and Kemerovo , Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Samara, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions.
