October 13, 2020 – News

“Act early”: this is the message of the campaign, launched October 12-16, 2020, on developmental difficulties in young children. Objective: to educate families on the importance of early management of developmental disorders.

Each year, more than 30,000 children under the age of 6 suffer from developmental delay. It is essential to set up early support to help these children and thus maximize their chances of progress in their development.

Intervening early with children is one of the commitments of the National Strategy for Autism in Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Objective: to organize the care of children under 7 years of age with neurodevelopmental disorders (TND).

The central role of parents

Parents, as close as possible to their children, are in the best position to detect the first signs that should alert. Between 0 and 6 years old, children develop in five main areas: gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language, perception-cognition and socialization. For each of them, simple signs make it possible to detect behaviors that should question, raise doubts and alert.

The “Agir Tôt” campaign aims to inform, but also to guide families who have questions, in particular through a series of 9 animated films illustrating in a simple way the warning signs.
