In the Republic of Buryatia, residents of the two villages Dyrestuy and Zarubino use the bridge crossing established in May of this year by military engineers of the motorized rifle unit of the Eastern Military District across the Dzhida River. The crossing is being built for the third year in a row and is replacing the destroyed bridge.

On average, about 100 cars and trucks cross the pontoon bridge per day.

During the operation of the bridge since May of this year, more than 20 tons of food products, about 30 tons of fuel and over 15 tons of mixed cargo were delivered to the Zarubino village.

Thanks to the bridge crossing, villagers freely visit the district hospital and school. Most people are transported to the neighboring village every day to earn money.

Making hay for livestock also plays an important role in the lives of the residents of the two villages. During this period, road traffic on the bridge crossing tripled.

Recall that the decision to establish a ferry across the Dzhida River was made by the command of the Air Defense Forces at the request of the government of Buryatia to organize a ferry for the local population in the area of the settlements of Dyrestui and Zarubino.

Servicemen are on duty around the clock, carrying out daily monitoring of the condition of the crossing, visual inspections and measurements of the water level in the river (to build up additional pontoon links in the event of a rise in the water level).
