In the Eastern Military District (VVO), about 100 female military personnel doing military service under contract continue their training under the intensive combined-arms training program at the junior specialist training center located in the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The course provides for six weeks of training for military personnel undergoing military service under contract in the positions of privates and sergeants. Over 30% of practical training is conducted at night.

The training of female military personnel differs from similar courses for men in that they increase the time indicators and replace some exercises with strength for physical fitness.

The program includes the study of 10 disciplines, one of which was introduced for the first time and is called “Fundamentals of Survival.”

It makes it possible to master the basics of autonomous conduct of operations as part of small groups in isolation from their unit. So, servicemen master the skills of making a fire, cooking, using natural shelters to protect from bad weather, their creation using improvised means.

In addition, female military personnel study the peculiarities of conducting combined arms combat in conditions as close as possible to real ones, with imitation – an artillery strike by a conventional enemy, the use of toxic substances, etc. All classes are held with the use of various sound, noise and visual effects.

At the end of the training, a control-complex lesson (five-day field trip) with a duration of 50 training hours will take place, during which the servicemen will work out on alert, make a 10-kilometer march over rough terrain on foot to the specified area.
