The final orienteering competitions under the program of the VII All-Russian Summer Universiade-2020 were held at the ski base of the sports center (Yekaterinburg) of the Samara branch of CSKA.

The official opening ceremony of the Universiade took place at the stadium of the Ural Federal University (UrFU). Yevgeny Ishchenko, Deputy Head of the Samara branch of CSKA (for sports work), took part in the grand opening of the series of sports tournaments. On behalf of the head of the Army Club, Colonel Artem Gromov, he greeted the participants and organizers of the competition:

For four days, 187 athletes competed in the cross-classic orienteering disciplines, the common start in the Cross-classic, the Cross-Long, and the Cross Relay – 3 people at an army base in a picturesque corner of the capital of the Urals …

For girls in the relay, the first place, adding only 3 seconds to the main competitors, was taken by the three athletes of the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University (KSPU). The team from Krasnoyarsk (SFU) finished second. The third place was taken by the team of the South Ural State University (SUSU).

The struggle among men was no less intense. The team of SUSFU won. The three athletes from the Moscow State Technical University (MSTU) were 8 seconds behind, and the team of the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI) received the bronze.

According to the results of the final competitions, the team places were distributed as follows:

– 1st place – the team of Yurgu, Chelyabinsk (1076 points);

– 2nd place – the team of Moscow State Technical University, Moscow (757 points);

– 3rd place – the team of the Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk (596 points).
