Resolution of October 8, 2020 No. 1626

Another 5 billion rubles will be allocated for the construction of a children’s sports and recreation center in the Filinskaya Bay of the Kaliningrad Region. The total amount of financing will be more than 9.9 billion rubles. This resolution was signed by the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

With the help of additional funding, an ice complex with stands for 400 seats, a pool with diving towers, an indoor track and field arena, a multifunctional complex with wrestling and extreme sports halls, as well as a rugby field, residential and educational buildings will be built on the territory of the future center.

The construction of all these facilities involves the second stage of the construction of the children’s center. Work on the first stage, which implies the construction of a sports and cultural complex for 400 spectators, an educational center and sports facilities, will proceed in parallel. The federal budget has already allocated more than 4.9 billion rubles for this.

The actual amount of funds allocated can be clarified when forming the draft budget for the next financial year and planning period.

The emergence of a new sports center in the Kaliningrad region will create the necessary conditions for the development of children and youth sports and the preparation of a sports reserve in the region.

The work is carried out on behalf of the President in the framework of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”.
