Source: German Research Foundation 50,000 euros for outstanding achievements in science communication

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is again awarding the “Communicator Prize – Science Prize of the Stifterverband”. This prize is awarded to scientists for outstanding achievements in science communication and is endowed with prize money of 50,000 euros. With this personal award, the DFG and the Stifterverband honor researchers from all disciplines for making their scientific work and their subject area accessible to a wide audience in a particularly creative, diverse and sustainable way and thus engaging in dialogue between science and society The prize can be awarded to individual scientists and small research teams. Both self-applications and suggestions are possible. The call for applications is aimed at scientists who work at universities and research institutions in Germany. Detailed information and notes on the application process and the price are available on the DFG website (see “Further information” below). Applications and proposals can be submitted by January 7, 2021 at the latest. A jury of communication experts and science journalists will decide on the award of the prize chaired by a DFG Vice-President. The award winner will be selected and announced in spring 2021. The award ceremony will take place on July 6, 2021 as part of the DFG annual meeting in Berlin.
