Servicemen of the engineer units of the marine corps of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) of the Southern Military District carried out a complete clearance of unexploded ordnance at the Adanak training ground in Dagestan, after performing firing exercises during tactical exercises.

Military engineers carried out demining activities in several stages. The first was the visual detection of unexploded ordnance, mines, grenades, and other dangerous items. Then the servicemen carried out a complete combing of the area, with a total area of about 3 thousand hectares. Sappers marked the places where explosive objects were found with signposts. At the last stage, the destruction teams detonated an overhead charge of unexploded ordnance on the spot.

The servicemen participating in the cleaning of the landfill are fully provided with personal protective equipment, modern mine detectors, communication facilities and vehicles designed for the transport of explosive objects.

A complete cleaning of ranges is carried out twice a year to ensure the safety of personnel during training sessions on training, tactical fields, a military shooting range and an artillery director.

In total, about 100 servicemen of the KFL Marine Corps engineering units and about 15 units of military and special equipment were involved at the Adanak training ground during the comprehensive cleaning activities.
