The EU tourism ecosystem is amongst the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. In May 2020, we announced the European Tourism Convention to launch a dialogue on sustainable recovery, the strategic orientation of the tourism of tomorrow, and to guide future work and cooperation in this area.
The event will consist of two distinct sessions:
- 3 parallel thematic workshops on safe and seamless tourism experience, greener holidays, and tourism powered by data
- a plenary session hosted by Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton
This virtual event is expected to attract more than 500 participants, including representatives of EU institutions, EU national and regional public authorities, European sectorial associations and the tourism and travel industry, international organisations, academics, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders.
