On 24 September 2020, Alexander Klyukin, a member of the CEC of Russia, took part in a meeting of the temporary commission of the Council of the Federation for the protection of state sovereignty and prevention of interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation.
Alexander Klyukin informed the participants of the meeting about the results of the election campaigns on a single voting day on 13 September 2020.
The member of the CEC of Russia noted that every report of voting violations, whether they occurred or were suspected, was reviewed by the election commissions of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation or by the CEC of Russia.
Alexander Klyukin also spoke about the analysis of foreign publications.
“We have not found any material about the elections that is at least politically neutral, not to mention objectivity or impartiality,” said the member of the CEC of Russia. “For example, according to the monitoring that we did, since 2017 282 publications on the topic “Elections in Russia” and 41 videos of a satirical show dedicated to the elections in Russia have been published on the website of Deutsche Welle. In all publications, the theme of the struggle between the government and society is imposed. Publications usually contain criticism of the electoral process, pointing to mass fraud, and discrediting voting procedures. But voters in Russia have long learned to distinguish criticism from speculation,” said Alexander Klyukin.
