In the Ulyanovsk airborne assault formation of the Airborne Forces, as part of the final check for the summer training period, a physical fitness check was passed.
All categories of contract servicemen who are not under dispensary medical supervision were involved in the event. Experts headed by the assistant commander of the unit for physical training Major Roman Nazarkin took the tests.
The servicemen passed exercises for strength, speed, endurance and military applied skills. The choice of exercises was provided in accordance with the age categories of the candidates. The most popular were traditionally pull-ups on the crossbar and push-ups from the floor in a lying position. Also, the servicemen handed over the lift with a coup and force output on the crossbar, push-ups on the uneven bars, bench press of a 70-kilogram barbell from the chest in a prone position, snatch and jerk of a 24-kilogram kettlebell.
The speed exercises were performed on treadmills. The guards passed the shuttle race 10 x 10 meters in the sports hall of the compound – in the same place where they demonstrated their strength capabilities. Running for 60, 100, 1000, 3000 and a march for 5000 meters took place in the fresh air.
The final grade for each serviceman will be given according to the sum of the points scored in accordance with the Manual on the physical training of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
