On October 8, in the Sverdlovsk Region, emergency services conducted joint exercises to eliminate the consequences of an emergency on the Yekaterinburg-Shadrinsk-Kurgan federal highway.

According to the legend of the exercise, on the 130th kilometer of the road, near the border with the Kurgan region, a regular bus collided with a fuel tanker and a passenger car. As a result of the accident, the tank was depressurized and the fuel spilled. Seventeen people were injured in the bus after the collision, and the driver and passenger of the car were trapped in the passenger compartment.

The traffic police officers were the first to arrive at the scene. A few minutes later the firefighters arrived. The fire fighters, using a special tool, unblocked the victims from a car. At the same time, the fire brigade organized a foam attack to eliminate the threat of fuel ignition. An ambulance team and workers of the emergency medical aid station of the Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine of the Sverdlovsk Region provided assistance to the victims at the scene of the accident. Many needed psychological help. Psychologists from the Ural branch of the Emergency Psychological Aid Center of the EMERCOM of Russia helped to overcome stress.

One of the victims was taken to a hospital by helicopter Mi-8 EMERCOM of Russia.

The road services cleared the roadway of damaged vehicles and carried out work to restore safe road conditions.
