At the Luga training ground in the Leningrad Region, servicemen of the Keletsko-Berlin Guards Brigade of the Western Military District (ZVO), as part of a final check over the summer training period, hit more than 100 targets simulating enemy fortifications and armored targets.

In the course of live firing, the crews of the 152-mm Akatsia self-propelled howitzers inflicted fire damage on targets located at ranges from 5 to 8 km from closed firing positions. The coordinates of the targets were transmitted by the operators of complexes with unmanned aerial vehicles “Orlan” and ground reconnaissance groups.

In addition, the crews of the Grad multiple launch rocket systems set stationary barrage fire on the routes of movement of the columns of the “enemy’s” armored vehicles, and also destroyed illegal armed groups in a conventional settlement.

The artillerymen complied with the individual and group standards for working on equipment and performed an anti-fire maneuver followed by direct fire. In the course of the measures taken, the issues of interaction in organizing and controlling the fire of artillery units, conducting reconnaissance and destroying unmanned aerial vehicles were also worked out.

More than 100 servicemen took part in the shooting, about 30 pieces of weapons and military equipment were involved.
