The Scheme on Relief Grants for Interest Class Instructors Hired by Organisations Subvented by the Social Welfare Department (Phase 2) opened for applications today.

As one of the measures of the Anti-epidemic Fund’s third round, the scheme will provide a one-off relief grant of $5,000 to interest class instructors who have been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, to provide further support and help lessen the impact on them.

The grant will be provided to each successful applicant of phase one of the scheme and interest class instructors engaged or planned to be engaged by subvented welfare service units of Social Welfare Department-subvented organisations for providing training in arts, dancing, handicraft work, sports and more from September to December.

Successful applicants of the scheme’s first phase will be notified of the second phase through SMS. Eligible applicants may apply for phase two of the scheme by completing and mailing application forms to the department.

For new applicants, completed application forms should be submitted to the department through the subvented welfare service units concerned.

For instructors who have submitted applications to the Education Bureau for relief grants for school instructors of learning or interest classes or to the Leisure & Cultural Services Department for relief grants for registered sports coaches, further submission to the Social Welfare Department is not required.

The application deadline is December 16.
