Co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Association, the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, the event aims to honour and promote the typical agricultural products of the city.
According to Doan Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Association, the event also contributes to supporting members, farmers, cooperatives, agricultural cooperative groups, production establishments, food processing, handicraft products, and agricultural enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the Central, Western, and Southeast regions in displaying and promoting their products.
The fair is also expected to provide a good opportunity for businesses and producers to exchange experiences and access new technologies, thus increasing product competitiveness.
It also aspires to help businesses promote their products and exchange advanced techniques and technology in agricultural production.
According to the organising committee, this year’s event features 230 stalls, divided into three separate areas. In which, Zone A displays agricultural products of Ho Chi Minh City such as orchids, bonsai, ornamental plants; safely produced vegetables, tubers, fruits, mushrooms, organic agricultural products, and hi-tech agricultural products. Zone B displays the achievements of urban agricultural development in Ho Chi Minh City, promoting products from the programme “Voting and honouring typical agricultural products of Ho Chi Minh City in 2019”. And Zone C includes booths displaying all kinds of seeds, plants, ornamental fish from the provinces and cities.
Within the framework of the fair, the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Association and the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also held a ceremony to honour Ho Chi Minh City’s typical agricultural products in 2019, acknowledging 30 typical agricultural products of 29 units and individuals in the area. Of which, many products meet the criteria of quality, value, production efficiency and business.
The 10th Ho Chi Minh City Agricultural Product Trade Fair in 2020 will run until October 14.
