At the end of the series “Angry Speeches” of the Germany Archive, the theologian Rainer Eppelmann, who represented the “Democratic Awakening” in the GDR People’s Chamber in 1990, reflects on the often lacking democratic spirit of arguing fairly and tirelessly for compromises.
