MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –
Sergei Sobyanin, who was present at its opening, congratulated the residents of the city on the Day of Moscow Industry.
The universal testing complex of electrical equipment, created by the joint-stock company “Corporation“ VNIIEM ””, is intended for testing electric drives, high and medium-capacity electric pumps and generators installed on the ships of the Russian marine fleet.
The complex, located at the address: Volnaya street, possession 30, includes more than 600 types of parts and instruments for pipeline, measuring, shut-off and computing equipment. 21 specialists will work here.
“Today is the Day of Moscow Industry. We usually celebrate it widely, we celebrate it, but during an epidemic, the main holidays are not in large halls or in concerts, but in the opportunity to live and work normally. All Moscow enterprises work without restrictions and create products. Moreover, in this difficult year, the volume of production did not even decrease, but increased, and the export component also increased, ”noted
During this period, the production of antiseptics, personal protective equipment and other goods necessary to protect people was launched in Moscow. The fabric from which masks and suits for doctors are sewn is also made in the capital.
According to him, it is generally accepted that the capital is currently not famous for its industry. “This is a complete delusion. About 700 thousand people work in industry in Moscow. This is the main industrial processing center of the country. Everything is produced here, from household appliances to cars and spacecraft, as, for example, at this enterprise of the corporation, ”said the Moscow Mayor.
He congratulated the staff of VNIIEM and other representatives of the Moscow industry on their professional holiday and noted that the employees of the enterprise make a great contribution to strengthening the country’s economy and defense capability. “Thank you, dear friends, for your high professionalism, conscientious and selfless work, for your great contribution to the development of Moscow industry and the fight against the pandemic,” said Sergei Sobyanin.
According to Leonid Makridenko, General Director of VNIIEM Corporation JSC, the polytechnic enterprise today is occupied with the directions dictated by the XXI century. Here they create comic devices for various purposes, control and protection systems for nuclear reactors, powerful electromagnetic suspensions, and large electric machines for the fleet. “Moscow is a space city where real space vehicles and real satellites are made. And of course, we have been awarded the title of an industrial enterprise. We receive preferences from Moscow. Sergey Semyonovich, let me express my deep gratitude to you, the Moscow Government, for your support. We will justify all the trust that has been given to us and will work for the good of our country and for the good of our Motherland, ”said Leonid Makridenko.
The opening of the new VNIIEM complex will give a great economic effect both for the corporation and for the city, said the head Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Alexander Prokhorov… “I think that there will be a queue here in the near future, and this will have a positive effect on the economy,” he added.
According to Alexander Prokhorov, the enterprise received the status of an industrial complex last year. This provides not only economic preferences, but also confirms the partnership between the Moscow Government and the Roscosmos corporation.
The head of the department also spoke about how Moscow enterprises operate during the pandemic. “We adhere to the point of view that if an industrial enterprise has employees who are not involved in the production cycle, then, of course, they need to be transferred to a remote mode of work, and we made this appeal to employers. We understand that there are industries such as the food industry, where 90–95 percent of employees are directly involved in production. And of course, the production cycle cannot be disrupted. And so everyone who could be sent to a remote location, we, of course, ask employers to send, ”said Alexander Prokhorov.
From self-propelled mines to space complexes
The VNIIEM corporation was founded in the fall of 1941 as a plant number 627 for the development and production of remotely controlled self-propelled mines (“torpedo tankettes”) designed to blow up enemy tanks or bunkers, as well as to participate in street battles.
Soon the enterprise was transformed into Research Institute No. 627 with an experimental plant No. 1, and in 1959 it became the All-Union Research Institute of Electromechanics (VNIIEM). This is the first enterprise in the country, which simultaneously deployed research, design and production units.
In the 1950s, VNIIEM became the leading organization for the development of electrical equipment for space launch vehicles. It was here that the famous R-7 was created, which launched the first artificial Earth satellite into orbit, and then the first manned spacecraft Vostok.
Due to the success of the project, VNIIEM was entrusted with the creation of meteorological satellites. The first of them – the experimental satellite “Kosmos-122” – was launched into orbit on June 25, 1966. And in the spring of 1967, two satellites were launched at once: “Kosmos-144” and “Kosmos-156”. Thus, a space meteorological system was created, which was later replenished with similar satellites, called “Meteor”.
Until 1973, the enterprise was headed by an outstanding scientist – Andronic Iosifyan, whom S.P. Korolev called the chief electrician of all missiles. For another 20 years, until his death, he was the scientific director of VNIIEM. In 1996, the institute was named after him.
In 2011, the enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company “Scientific and Production Corporation“ Space Monitoring Systems, Information Control and Electromechanical Complexes ”named after A.G. Iosifyan ”(VNIIEM corporation). Currently, it is part of the state corporation Roscosmos.
VNIIEM Corporation produces spacecraft and complexes, electrical equipment and control systems for nuclear power plants, electric pumps, electric motors and electric drives for the marine fleet, equipment for the oil and gas industry, electrical and structural materials. The enterprise employs over 2.5 thousand people.
In 2019, the Moscow Government awarded VNIIEM the status of an industrial complex, which gave it the right to receive tax benefits provided for by city legislation. It is expected that in 2020 the amount of benefits will be 28 million rubles. The money will be directed to the development of the enterprise.
Subdivisions of VNIIEM are located at the following addresses: Volnaya street, possession 30, Khoromny blind alley, possession 4, building 1 and Izmailovskoe highway, possession 40, building 2. The area of land plots occupied by the enterprise is 8.4 hectares, the area of industrial premises is 101.8 thousands of square meters.
