Servicemen of units and subunits of the 41st Combined Arms Army (OA) of the Central Military District (CVO) at training ranges in the Kemerovo Region, Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva showed driving skills in extreme conditions during control exercises in combat training during the summer training period.

The mechanic drivers performed a test driving exercise for BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, Tiger armored vehicles, Msta-S, Nona-SVK and Akatsia self-propelled artillery mounts. On routes more than 5 km long, military drivers had to show their skills in overcoming natural and artificial obstacles, such as a knee bridge, a ruts in a mine-explosive obstacle, an anti-tank ditch, ascents and descents, a steepness of more than 10 degrees, as well as artificial and natural ford. Difficulty in performing the exercises were weather conditions and slippery, viscous soil, which made it difficult to pass the route at the highest possible speeds. Driving was carried out in the daytime and in the dark. More than 800 drivers and driver-mechanics of various categories and about 60 units of military equipment were involved in the test.

Earlier, the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, announced that more than 10 major exercises with the participation of large formations, formations and military units of the Central Military District will take place in October as part of a control check of troops during the summer training period at the training grounds of the Republics of Bashkiria, Udmurtia, Tyva, and also Kemerovo. Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Samara, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions.

41 OA of the Central Military District is deployed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo regions, Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva. It includes motorized rifle, artillery formations, air defense troops, RChBZ and communications.
