Improvement is nearing completion in Daev and Ananievsky side-streets, where a new public space for walking and recreation will appear. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov.
“The improvement of the side streets is a logical continuation of the set of measures to improve the urban environment in the central part of the city and will allow complementing the previously completed reconstruction of Sretenka and the Garden Ring,” he said.
According to him, work in the area began in February, but was then suspended due to the worsening epidemiological situation. The specialists were tasked with creating a comfortable and safe pedestrian space.
“As a result of the improvement, all overhead cable lines were removed underground into collectors, sidewalks were widened, more than 120 lighting poles and street lamps with energy-saving lamps, benches and navigation steles were installed, which will help Muscovites and guests of the capital better navigate. For lovers of outdoor activities, a bicycle rental and bicycle parking station will open, ”added Pyotr Biryukov.
In the near future, work will be completed in the courtyards in the area of improvement. There, driveways and paths will be put in order, children’s and sports grounds will be equipped, trees and bushes will be planted.
Pyotr Biryukov stressed that within the framework of the reconstruction, special attention is paid to the preservation of cultural values. In particular, during the dismantling of the asphalt pavement in Ananyevsky Lane, historical gratings with light prisms were found, which previously served to illuminate the basements. They have already been sent for restoration, and then will return to their original place.
