The Prosecutor’s Office of Orenburg achieved the organization of proper street lighting of the Dubki residential complex in Orenburg.
The carried out check with a personal visit of the city prosecutor to the place revealed violations of the law, due to which the courtyards of 4 newly built apartment buildings and the access roads to them are not illuminated at night. It has been established that their power grids are not maintained or operated, some of them remain ownerless.
The prosecutor defended the townspeople and sent a claim to the court against the administration of the regional center, the Committee for Property Management of the city of Orenburg. He demanded to impose on the local government the obligation to organize proper street lighting and take the life support facilities into municipal ownership.
Without waiting for the consideration of the claim in court, the defendant took real measures aimed at restoring the rights of citizens. Outdoor lighting of the microdistrict has been restored.
At present, the deputy head of the city of Orenburg for housing and communal services and transport is considering a submission from the city prosecutor’s office, which was also submitted based on the results of this inspection. In it, the prosecutor identified unresolved problems of transport accessibility of the microdistrict and ensuring the safety of passenger traffic. The real elimination of these violations is controlled by the supervisory authority.
