Combat crews of anti-aircraft missile units of the Baltic Fleet’s air defense formations conducted complex firing at the Ashuluk range in the Astrakhan region.

Shooting was carried out both from specially equipped combat positions, and during marches to new positional areas. During the tactical exercise, special attention was paid to modeling real combat conditions with the use of a conventional enemy of aerospace attack weapons.

As part of the exercise, the Baltic Fleet air defense specialists practiced camouflaging their positions, prepared anti-aircraft missile systems for combat use in the daytime and at night for ten targets simultaneously.

The culmination of the exercise at the Ashuluk training ground was missile launches from the S-400 systems at high-altitude, supersonic, low-flying, maneuvering, ground and ballistic targets, denoting fighters, cruise missiles and other weapons of a simulated enemy.

In total, more than 200 military personnel took part in the tactical live-fire exercise, which took place this week in the Astrakhan region, about 20 pieces of weapons, military and special equipment were involved.
