Credit: Roberto Castro / MTurThe Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, and the Special Secretary for Culture, Mário Frias, visited this Tuesday (06.10) the future headquarters of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN). The new location, which was presented by the entity’s president, Larissa Peixoto, will generate savings of R $ 14.2 million per year for public coffers. The change was made possible through an exchange, where the Federal Government made available ten properties that were not used in exchange for the future building, which will also house the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea). According to Álvaro Antônio, the savings generated by this change shows the commitment of the current management to increase the efficiency of public spending. “This property was sought for more than 5 years and now, under President Jair Bolsonaro, we have managed to consolidate this economy, optimizing public spending and increasing the efficiency of both the Secretariat of Culture and IPHAN. It is the government of President Jair Bolsonaro truly working for the Brazilian people, ”he declared. During the visit, the Special Secretary for Culture, Mário Frias, highlighted the importance of actions like this for the federal government. “It is a joy to know that we are here looking for more efficient management, savings and respect for taxpayers’ money. This is a prerogative of the Bolsonaro government. We at the Secretariat of Culture are proud, ”he said. IPHAN’s president, Larissa Peixoto, thanked the minister and the special secretary for their presence and reinforced the commitment of the institute’s work in favor of State efficiency. “This shows and proves more and more our commitment to the optimization of public resources. It was a process that has been going on for years and reinforces that this management is committed to delivering great results ”, he concluded. The forecast is that the change will be implemented in the first half of 2021. Edition: Amanda Costa
