This is the objective of an unprecedented mapping that will be developed by the Ministry of Tourism to check the availability of free public internet (Wi-Fi) in attractions of the 158 cities covered by the Program, aimed at structuring and promoting the itineraries. managers of the municipalities involved will receive an electronic questionnaire, which will allow the collection of information on the level of local technological development. The data will help guide future actions and investments by the federal government to provide advances in the digitalization of locations that do not yet offer free access to the network. The Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, encourages participation in the process. “It is an important step towards the positioning of Brazil in the resumption and a differential in the choice of destinations by visitors. The participation of managers is essential to allow Brazilian tourism to reach its full potential and contribute to overcoming the crisis generated by the pandemic ”, justifies the minister. The development of smart tourist destinations follows a global trend in the sector, based on digital transformation cities as a way to reinforce the attraction of visitors and investments. Municipal public managers will have a period of two weeks, from the receipt of the questionnaire, to answer it and submit the data to the Ministry of Tourism.INVESTE TURISMO – Developed by MTur, Sebrae and Embratur, the Program seeks to increase the quality of services in the area and the competitiveness of the routes served, focusing on the generation of jobs by micro and small companies.
