Through the Colombia Nos Une Program, the Directorate of Migration, Consular Affairs and Citizen Services of the Foreign Ministry, in coordination with the consulates and embassies of Colombia, commemorates the National Day of the Colombian Migrant with virtual and face-to-face events and support initiatives and Accompaniment to Colombians abroad.

Within the framework of the National Day of the Colombian Migrant, created by Law 1999 of 2019, more than 160 initiatives will be launched aimed at compatriots around the world.

The virtual sessions, some of which will take place through the Facebook page of Colombia Nos Une, include talks on mental health, legal issues, immigration procedures, entrepreneurship, language classes, art for children, folkloric performances, well-being for older adults, among others.

Also, as part of the digital commemoration actions, the first virtual Services Fair will be held, with the participation of entities such as: Colpensiones, Pension Management Unit and Parafiscales – UGPP, National Savings Fund, Colombian Chamber of Construction – Camacol, Ministry of National Education, Recruitment Command of the Colombian National Army, Directorate of National Taxes and Customs – DIAN, Sena, Icetex, Colombian Institute of Family Welfare – ICBF, Victims Unit and Land Restitution Unit.

Education, entrepreneurship and more

Some consulates and / or consular sections, in addition, will carry out private virtual sessions on digital marketing, entrepreneurship and languages ​​(English, Polish, Turkish, Portuguese), finance, business development, qualification approval, first aid, driver’s licenses in the Exterior.

Other consular offices will launch initiatives to support and accompany the Colombian population such as: digital directories of entrepreneurs, gift cards to be redeemed in Colombian citizens’ businesses, delivery of oral hygiene kits, toilet kits and school kits, training sessions. health services, food assistance.

More than one hundred Colombians outstanding abroad

On the other hand, in order to highlight the role of Colombian migrants, mainly those whose work has a great impact on their host places, a special section was created within the official microsite of the National Day of the Colombian Migrant with the profiles of these compatriots. .

They are nationals who reside in countries such as the United States, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Spain, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hungary, Ireland , South Korea, South Sudan, Kenya, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Oman, Egypt, Turkey, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
